Peter and Stephanie opted to host us at their alma mater, St. Thomas University in St. Paul, MN, for their engagement session. Having been introduced through a mutual friend, Peter and Stephanie met while attending college. It only seemed natural that we shoot their engagement session at the location where they started dating and Peter proposed. We felt special as we learned the "ins and outs" of attending school during our vicious Minnesota winters; secret tunnels from building to building as well as incredibly cozy study nooks are a part of the St. Thomas lifestyle. We toured the building where Peter and Stephanie enjoyed a class together and had the pleasure of visiting the arches on campus where Peter proposed just a short time ago. We sincerely enjoyed getting to know a little more about this very special couple and look forward to their wedding day this August. Thank you both for letting us into your lives for a chilly a.m. engagement session. Congratulations Peter and Stephanie!!

Wow, this year has been a whirlwind of AMAZING weddings and portrait sessions... We've been all over the country and have truly enjoyed every moment! In the hustle and bustle of it all, we have neglected this blog and I am so sad about it....

Resolution #1 for Laura Leigh Images is to start posting here more! BELIEVE IT! :-)

We've already started our year off with a bang, traveling to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for an absolutely incredible destination wedding! I'm excited to share more from that, and plan to do so this week!

With part of the crowd from traveling from Brazil, the guests were treated to an infusion of Brazilian culture, including a signature drink and beautiful toast in Portuguese by the groom's brother.

We started the day at Elizabeth J. Salon where all of the ladies were having their hair and make-up done for the day. Jackie was the very picture of a relaxed and happy bride on her wedding day...

Kriss Soterion, the owner and creator of Kriss Cosmetics was on hand to ensure everyone was absolutely flawless!

Kriss was excited that the foundation she wiped off on her hand was in the shape of a heart - how appropriate for a wedding day!

We moved from Elizabeth J. Salon to Jackie's parent's house to finish the getting ready process

Jackie's sister, Sarah, helped Jackie slip into her wedding dress.

Lauren and Laura, making sure the sashes for the bridesmaid's dresses are wrinkle-free!

Jackie's mother helped with jewelry...

... and we were off!

This image of the guys was taken at the Inn, after the wedding, but I love seeing the girls next to the guys in blog posts :-)

One program in English and one in Portuguese!

The middle image is of Paolo waving to his guests while he waits for Jackie to walk down the lawn to marry him... he looks so happy!

All who attended enjoyed the sunshine and great company, along with amazing food and summery drinks specially chosen by Kyle and Laura. The mojitos in glass mason jars were an especially cute touch! In fact, just about every detail was especially cute, and especially thoughtful. All part of an elaborate plan that would end with an incredible wedding for Kyle and Laura.

Easily in my top 5 bouquets of all time...

Two beautiful pieces to remember Laura's grandmothers.... a pin, and a ring...

This is such a special idea! Instead of a typical unity candle, Laura and Kyle wrote letters to each other and will keep them in this box, along with a bottle of wine that they have chosen together. One their first anniversary, they will drink the wine and read the letters that they wrote for each other. Then, they will replace the bottle with a new kind of wine and new letters for each other to open on their next anniversary. They will do this every year! I LOVE this tradition!

Kyle and Laura - We hope you are enjoying your incredible honeymoon in Belize! We are so very very jealous! All the best to you both!

While 'whirlwind' may describe their lifestyle, it doesn't describe their relationship. Tim and Danielle exhibit a calm kind of love, filled with happy moments and genuine caring... a kind of love that every little girl dreams of having. The kind of love that lasts a lifetime.

Tim is one of those people that makes you feel comfortable the moment you are in his presence. He is humble, relaxed, and charming. Factor in his Canadian accent and his amazing goal-tending skills, and it's easy to see why Danielle is smitten!

Danielle is a natural beauty with a warm personality and an ever-present smile. Her love for her family and friends is so clear, and she made me feel like I was a part of it all from Day 1. Tim, you are a very lucky man!

Danielle made Tim a card and presented it to him when they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day... So sweet!

I loved Danielle's facial expressions while Tim was reading her card!

Many thanks to an amazing wedding party -- they were a riot!

After their wedding ceremony, Tim and Danielle snuck off to their reception in style!

As a favor for their guests, Danielle and Tim provided a candy buffet, complete with fortune cookies! The fortune inside read, "Thank you for sharing this special day with us! Tim ... Danielle 6.11.11"

Tim ... Danielle, thank you so much for having me as a part of your big day! It was an absolute honor, and lots of fun to be a part of! I hope you had a fabulous honeymoon in Las Vegas!

Kris and Amanda, I am so glad you found me before your big move! I look forward to more sessions when you come back to visit, and to watching sweet little "L" grow up! Thank you for trusting me with your memories.

We started our session in a field, catching those last beautiful rays of sunlight as they came down through the trees....

I just love this father/daughter image...

BEAUTIFUL ladies!

Then, after a quick outfit change, we moved downtown to capture a few more images with an urban vibe...

Then, we stumbled upon a small patch of grass and dandelions, and I just had to take advantage of it!

One last shot of this gorgeous family before the sun went down!

Despite an injury to her foot, Laura was beaming from ear to ear from start to finish on Saturday. She and Tony could not have been more cooperative as we suggested scaling a wall for what turned out to be some very special wedding day images.

They thank their sisters, Nikki and Lisa for bringing them together years ago. It is clear their siblings know them well as they truly assisted in joining one of the most loving and adoring couples I have had the opportunity to witness in some time.

Jillian chose a classic color palette for her wedding colors - black and white - which made everything about the day feel timeless and elegant. I couldn't get over all of the black and white baroque wedding details, right down to the wrapping paper on her wedding party gifts!

Ryan and Jillian, thank you so much for allowing us to capture your wedding day photos. It is evident that the two of you share a love and level of compassion for each other that will stand the test of time. I feel truly blessed to have shared the day with you!

When Kristyn approached me about doing romantic outdoor maternity photos, I couldn't wait to set up their session. We decided on a perfect outdoor location and met later in the evening, to catch the glow of sunset... the rest was pure magic.

This maternity session was beautiful and so meaningful. Ryan and Kristyn have so much love for each other and have lived an incredible love story in their 3 years together... I can't wait to meet their baby boy in July!
